We slept in and got on the trail mid morning. The terrain had now given way from the stark rocky ground to lush trail in the The Mokowanis River valley. The smoke was still thick and the day got hot again close to or over 90 again today.
Cory leading the way this morning
We crossed and recrossed the river as we walked close to Glenn's Lake all day
arriving at Cosley Lake campground it what seemed like just a few minutes of the day
We arrived just after noon and there was still a whole camp full of people from outside the US being led by a guiding service. Their packs were HUGE! We dropped our very light packs and had lunch as we were in no hurry to set up camp. The only thing I was intent on doing was jumping in the lake!
We picked our campsite, each with its on private trail to the beach area. This one must have had the artist of the previous group as he left us a beautiful diorama
After setting up our camp for the night
True to my word, I was in the water. VERY cold at first but once in, it felt fantastic. I washed my cloths in the lake and hung them to dry on a couple of branches.
While not to make anyone depressed, (below) should have been the view right behind me as I floated in the water. I realize fire is a natural part of the ecosystem and necessary for new growth, but geez why did it have to be this week!

Then it was time to really relax and sit on the beach
While relaxing you have to keep to things close at hand. Drink lots of water and take your bear spray with you were ever you go...
more of the previous campers handy work, mini cairns along the lake front
A panorama of Cosley Lake. Cosley Lake is considered the Crown of the Continent.
The sunsets continue to be weirder and weirder as the smoke gets thicker in the air
My only comment this time is---Wow, that cold water must have been a rude awakening!!!
