Tahoe Rim Trail September 2019 Day 7

Day 7

At the end of Day 6 we are picked up by a very nice Trail Angel named Susan from South Lake Tahoe and driven back into town to dry off and regroup. Day 7 is a logistics day of changing our resupply day in Tahoe City yet again and mapping out what can be done in the remainder of the time we have left to be on the trail.
After sorting out hotel nights and grabbing our clothes from storage at the Mellow Mountain hostel and finally doing laundry (oh dry warm clothes!) we wander into town. South Lake Tahoe is a pricey place and to be fair we didn't explore much of the complete town except the Heavenly resort area that was close to us, but there are a few hidden (not so hidden) gems here. Basecamp Pizza and their Thai Curry Pizza. I know it sounds weird and it had the potential to be heavy handed and awful, but it wasn't in fact it was fantastic and has to be considered one of the top 5 pizzas I have ever had along with the Deschutes Brewery Marionberry Lavender Sour Ale they had on tap.

I think I had this combination three times during our stay around SLT. In addition California Burger Company does have a really good burger and some great appetizers, but the combination of live music everyday

and a wonderful discovery here of Adult Milkshakes! You can try them all for yourself, but I will just tell you that the Shake, Rattle, and Roll is the best and might be one of the best things I have ever tasted!

An honorable mention needs to go to Azul Kitchen, a very good mexican restaurant right next to California Burger Company that share the promotion of the live music every day.
On the flip side we were not very impressed with Stateline Brewing company. We had high hopes but they were dashed with a limited selection and all IPA's (yuck!). Perhaps we caught them on an off week.

With much food and drink consumed, planning starts again. Tomorrow we will do a day hike from North Kingsbury to Spooner Lake. This will be almost 14 miles.
