Tahoe Rim Trail September 2019 Day 9

Day 9
We are closing the loop from North Kingsbury TH (Barrett Drive) to South Kingsbury Trailhead where we started before we head up to Tahoe City later today. Today is only about 5.5 miles but lots of big uphills as we start out low and have to climb over the Heavenly ski hill. We get Gary to Uber us to the same trail head again and we will take the same City bus 22, we originally used to get us to Kingsbury South on our first day, to return us to South Lake Tahoe Transit Center

Another gorgeous day walking around Tahoe. A great view in the morning looking across to Desolation Wilderness on the other side of the Lake

Pyramid Peak and the other mountains directly behind Aloha Lake in Desolation Wilderness, in the background, with the Casinos of Stateline, NV., with South Lake Tahoe village just behind those.

Today had a considerable amount of walking close to the road and houses, some of the large and really beautiful. Even as we climbed higher the housed got bigger.

Just more beautiful trail

Highest point for today 7777' as we entered back into the ski area.

We finished in just a few hours, waited for the bus to pick us up and made it back into SLT by lunch time. Basecamp pizza again for Thai Curry Pizza and beer. We had arranged with Gary to pick us up at 2:30 pm to drive us up to Tahoe City where we would continue on for another three nights.
